Age: 10-14 Middle School 1 Full Credit

This course meets the requirements of a middle school geography or social studies class.

The class will meet weekly over Zoom on Thursdays, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Central Standard Time. The format will be lectures and discussion each week.

American Geography is a live lecture- and picture-based class that will cover basic world geography, the nations of North America, the provinces of Canada, and the 50 United States. Students will take weekly notes on each nation, province, or state, create weekly portfolio entries, take regular geography quizzes, and complete an end-of-year project.

Assessment and Grading:

Quizzes will be automatically graded in the course or by a distributed key. Portfolios will be graded on a pass/fail basis by the instructor. The final project will be graded by the instructor.

Course Format:

The course will consist of live Zoom meetings that will be added to the steps as recordings each week. Assigned readings and quizzes will also be available within the lessons.
