Spanish Grammar from Latin Roots

Dwane Thomas brings his signature humor and clarity to this unique introduction to Spanish. With a strong focus on grammar and connections between Spanish and Latin, students develop an ability to read Spanish with understanding and fluency.

Students will:

• Learn Spanish grammar by comparing it to Latin roots, deepening their understanding of both languages.
  
• Focus on developing intermediate reading skills, with the goal of reading the Spanish New Testament by year’s end.
  
• Follow a consistent weekly structure: reading chapters, listening to spoken Spanish, and taking self-graded tests.
  
• Gain tips and tools from a lifelong language learner and experienced Latin teacher.
  
• Use Madrigal’s Magic Key to Spanish and All Spanish Method as primary texts to reinforce grammar and vocabulary.
  

This half-credit course offers a grammar-focused introduction to Spanish, helping students build a foundation in reading comprehension through engaging connections to Latin.
