Caveat Spectator: Apparently in my haste going through the books of the OT, I somehow left out Lamentations. Thankfully, “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;” Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV) To rectify my oversight, note that Lamentations was written by the prophet Jeremiah in his great sorrow over the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians in 586 BC.
