We will be moving through the Old Testament at different speeds at different times: sometimes we will only cover a few chapters in a class; other times will cover entire books.

My hope is that you will read the entire Old Testament during this class. To do so, however, will require you to regularly read on a consistent plan so that you aren’t overwhelmed (or bored) as we move along. Since I assume this class will have Christmas Break in the middle, I’ve structured the plan for 36 weeks. You are welcome to increase the speed or slow it down depending on how long it takes you to finish the class.

You will need to manage the reading plan on your own. I will include it each week in the assignment section so you can reference it, and I’ll even put bold marks on the place where I think you should be (assuming a mid-semester break). However, this is more for your general guidance: just follow it according to your own schedule (and abilities). Genesis is easier than Leviticus, and Psalms is easier than Isaiah. My point is that some books might take you longer to read than others. Just do the best you can!
