Acts 27:34-36

Reflect

For days, Paul and 275 other passengers of a drifting ship ate nothing for days in order to conserve food until they had found land to swim to.

Sensing they were close to land, Paul encouraged the passengers to eat and fuel up for the physical exertion of making it to land. Food is primarily intended to be a fuel source for physical activity. God has brilliantly engineered food to provide our bodies with energy for work and serving others. Using food as fuel helps us do two things: (1) choose quality foods that give us the most energy and (2) use the foods we eat for movement and activity.

Respond

  1. According to the rest of Acts 27, what happened to the crew after fueling up with food?
  2. What kinds of food can give us energy for movement and work?
