I am so pleased to be teaching Literature and Writing for 7th and 8th grades.  I anticipate lots of lively discussion and enjoyable learning. Here is an overview of what we will be doing this year.

Since this is a discussion based class, I will not have a syllabus for the whole year.  Rather, I will be publishing the week’s assignments depending on how much we cover in class.

The next step in the Learning Management System will list the books we will study in the order I anticipate we will be reading them. I recommend getting all of them now and for you to consider letting your child read ahead however they / you wish.  Some students prefer to read them (perhaps for the first time) as scheduled.  However, I have also found that studying a book as a second reading can be really helpful for some students.  It is totally up to your knowledge of your child and his or her preference.
