Students explore geology, paleontology, archaeology, simple machines, science history, the scientific method and experimental design, concluding with an introduction to life sciences and biology, human anatomy and human physiology.

Bonnie Kookogey brings together 19 years of homeschool mentoring and professional nursing experience to teach middle school students foundational concepts in both the physical and life sciences. This classroom-style course is rich in hands-on application, scientific reasoning, and clear instruction designed to build a solid understanding of how the natural world works.

Students will:

  • Explore geology, paleontology, archaeology, simple machines, and the history and methods of science.
  • Gain a strong introduction to life sciences, including biology, human anatomy, and physiology.
  • Learn the scientific method and experimental design through guided instruction and home-based labs.
  • Follow engaging video lessons recorded live in a classroom setting for a realistic and interactive learning experience.

This full-credit course provides a broad foundation in general science and prepares students for upper-level science classes.

About Instructor

Bonnie Kookogey

Bonnie Kookogey is the mother of six children whom she homeschools with her husband, Kevin. Bonnie and Kevin have taught, led, and mentored students and parents in the homeschool community for 19 years. Bonnie graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) in 1987 from West Chester University, West Chester, PA, and she earned her Master’s Degree in 1991 from St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA. Bonnie worked initially as a registered nurse and was then licensed as a Nurse Anesthetist, practicing in both Philadelphia and Nashville for ten years.
