HOMEWORK

  1. Print out the blank story chart and conflict/theme literary devices handout. You will need several copies throughout the semester of the story chart from Center For Lit, Inc., so keep a few on hand in your binder.
  2. Read at least the first half of Johnny Tremain which will be discussed in class next week.  We will concentrate on character and conflict, so try and pay special attention to things that make an impression on you as you read. Make note of which chapter those things are in.
  3. Use your story chart and the Conflict / Theme / Literary Devices sheet to guide you as you read.  You can make notes on a story chart and bring that to class for discussion if that helps you.
