Lesson Summary
Maintaining something over many different seasons of our lives can be challenging, but when we have vision it is much easier! Multiplied maintenance is about learning to aim at goals that can be reached. If we don’t know how or where to aim, we are not going to hit our target. However, if we know what our target is and we keep our eyes on that target, we are more likely to hit it. In order to maintain the healthy practices of movement, nourishment, and recovery, we need a plan. Just like learning an instrument, learning to play a sport, or getting a good education, we need a plan in order to succeed in any area of life. A plan and routine will help us be consistent with our health and continue growing on our health journey.
Discovering the best plan in every season of our lives is what it means to find vision. We can talk to our parents, guardians, teachers, and other trusted adults in our lives to ask for help in finding a good routine for exercise, including more nutritious food in our diets, or planning out rhythms for rest and recovery. After we get help from older, wiser people in our lives, it is very important to write our plan down in order to remember it and keep a clear vision. Writing down a clear plan for exercise, nutrition, a bedtime routine, and more will help us have a vision for our health journey. When we find vision to maintain a healthy lifestyle, we can teach people to follow the same plan, which will multiply our maintenance in others’ lives!
Key Takeaways
- When we have clear goals we are aiming at, we are much more likely to hit those goals! As the saying goes, if we fail to plan, we plan to fail.
- Discovering the best plan in every season of our lives is what it means to find vision.
- Although routines can feel boring sometimes, they help us stay consistent and maintain health over our whole lives!
- We can ask for help from our parents, teachers, and other trusted adults to come up with a personalized, realistic routine in this season of life.
- After seeking the advice of trusted adults, we should write down a detailed plan with daily and weekly goals in order to remember and stay focused on our vision.
- We can include in our plan when, how, and how often we want to exercise each week. We can write down some nutritious foods we would like to try or certain fruits and veggies we would like to eat more of. We can also write down our bedtime routine and activities that make us feel rested during the week.
- Maintaining our health and finding vision by discovering the best plan to follow in this season will help us teach others how to follow a clear plan for themselves. This is called multiplied maintenance!
