Tests
Tests in General Science are optional. Parents who wish to test their children’s understanding of the concepts have two options. One option is to give them the tests provided in the Solutions Manual (Miss Bonnie will not be requiring her in person students to take these tests). Another option is to test them using the Quizlet links Miss Bonnie Provides at the end of a Module. Again, all tests are optional.
Quizzes
Mrs. Bonnie creates in class quizzes for her students using the On Your Own Questions that appear in each module. Whenever the quiz is assigned it will be available in the “Assignment Before Next Lesson” section. Parents can then grade the quizzes using the On Your Own (OYO) question answers found at the end of each module.
Student Notebook
This year, I am using the older, 2nd edition student notebooks to accommodate the families I have in-person. According to Apologia, there is a licensing option for a PDF of this edition even though the 3rd edition is their current product. Here’s the response I received from their customer service department:
We have sold out of our General Science 3rd edition Student Notebooks. We do not sell the PDF for the notebooks. We [Apologia] do, however, sell a license for $12. The license gives copyright permission for a Student Notebook to be copied. The hard part, at this point, is finding a new copy of the Student Notebook so a copy can be made from it. The license is sold [through Apologia] by phone only.
Also, this is a complete course without the Student Notebook. It is a very useful tool, but it is not required. (They didn’t have notebooks yet when our children used GS 2nd.)
We wish you and your class the best. Thank you for choosing Apologia.
Blessings,
