I was wondering if you could please explain the “Truth, Error, and Culture” assignment connected to ‘Self-reliance’. The assignment says to “summarize each”. Is it referring to paragraphs? Thank you!

Thanks for taking my class! The assignment was 2 parts:

1. The student reads the “Self-Reliance” essay and marks sections as ‘truth,’ ‘error,’ or ‘proclaimed by our current culture.’ There is no set limit, but try to find 3 of each.

2. Then look at the collection of ‘truth’ passages, and summarize what makes them true or how it stacks against scripture, etc. Is there a connection between all the ‘error’ passages you noted, etc.
