Hello. My son is having trouble memorizing Latin word endings and relating them to their case. Are there any materials or practice sheets that could help? Thank you!

    Hi, Suzy!

There actually are some charts you can download for free to help with all the complicated Latin endings. Unfortunately, the endings, and the charts are pretty complicated. That’s just Latin being Latin.

You can find the charts here: https://compassclassroom.com/shop/product/dwane-s-awesome-latin-lists/

I also tried to include them at the end of this message.

As far as memorizing the Latin endings…. I’d rely on the charts. I’ve been reading Latin for over 25 years, and I still refer to the charts.

I am not suggesting you not memorize the endings. By all means, memorize the endings. But, sometimes students have all the endings memorized and they can’t read in Latin. I don’t want that for students.

Having the charts nearby for a quick reference is helpful while you are memorizing.

Also, if your son has particular charts he is struggling with, let me know. I am happy to create more videos. I’ll simply post them here. Chances are, other’s need help with the same charts.

Hope you are having a great day!
