Hi everyone! We are new to this new website although we have been using Visual Latin with compass classroom for awhile. I haven’t browsed through everything on this page, so I’m hoping it’s okay to ask questions pertaining to the lessons here.

This is one of many questions we are stuck on.

    Lesson 15

    15B sentences (relative pronouns)

Vir qui germanum meum audit pater meus est.

    My son wrote:

“The man, who is my brother, hears my father.”

    The answer key says:

“The man, who hears my brother, is my father.”

He does not understand why his translation is wrong and I can’t explain it either. (I don’t know Latin at all!)

Is there anyone that can help us? PLEASE!?

Perhaps there is a bigger issue here. He did the 1/2 of the class last year, took several months off, and is just now picking it back up. Do we need to start all over instead of picking up where he left off?

Thank you to anyone who can help with both questions.

    Sincerely,

Mom in tears because she doesn’t know how to help her son

Thank you very much!! That helped. It also showed me that my son needs to review some ENGLISH grammar, too.

Thank you for taking the time to make a video for us. It is very much appreciated.
