We are doing Antiquity this year, and I’m wondering if the exams have a recommended point system for grading or if we are to assign our own points based on the difficulty level of each question. How many points should be given per exam? Thank you.

    Hi Robert!

As you guessed, we don’t put points on the questions themselves to allow parents flexibility based on the age and stage of the child. Pages 19-20 in the Teacher’s Guide are helpful in explaining Dave Raymond’s own philosophy in grading (knowledge<understanding<wisdom) the child “against him/herself” to gauge progress.

Practically, you could use a 10-point scale for each question, and take the total points earned divided by total points max.

I’d be happy to help you walk through a particular exam if you’d like some additional help.
