It’s not a free resource, but it’s a great one for young people: Peter Schiff’s “How an Economy Grows and Why it Crashes”. It’s packed with illustrations and is told as a story, starting from the first three castaways on an island who can each catch one fish per day to survive. From there it grows to the first deferred consumption when one guy decides to not fish for a day but rather risk going hungry to invent a net. And on and on, in a super-readable and understandable story.
